Tear Fund + Share and Care fighting against Trafficking in Nepal Tear Fund's partner Share and Care Nepal (SCN) is passionate about empowering women to prevent human trafficking. They rehabilitate girls who have been rescued from various types of slave labour including: circuses, brothels, and domestic servitude. Welcoming them into a supportive women's group environment, they are given both social and economic assistance. Those who have returned from being trafficked are also encouraged to share their experiences and their pain with each other. SN believes that learning life skills and vocational training is the first line of defence. By doing this they are making 'at risk' women more protected and prepared to resist the ploys of traffickers. Funds raised were $6500 to cover the cost of livelihood opportunity training for 100 victimised women and girls.
Jesus Wells   - through Gospel for Asia. This outreach uses local contractors to dig the wells and then installs an India Mark II pump. The finished wells become a focal point of interest in the local church. With fresh clear water pouring from the pump, people are suddenly interested in knowing more about the Christians and the claim that their God, Jesus, offers the "living water" that provides them with eternal life.We donated enough for the purchase and installation of 5 Jesus Wells.

Rickshaws of India Rickshaws are like taxis in India. A man can rent one and earn his living, but often he is given one in poor condition and the rental charged is exorbitant, making it impossible for him, no matter how hard he works, to rise out of poverty. Our project aimed to buy rickshaws and donate them to needy families to enable them to work their way out of poverty with dignity. We donated a total of 15 rickshaws through "PeopleAid".
We helped abandoned children in Romania, Russia, Bhutan, India and Uganda through Orphans Aid International, a NZ Charitable Trust which began in Invercargill in 2004. Children are rescued by Orphans Aid who then care for and provide for them, and whenever possible, help with fostering and adoption to families and homes.
